Ingeborg Hoffstadt studied German philology, philosophy and psychology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn after graduating in public management. For several years she worked as a journalist. In the early 1990s she has been personal assistant to the chairman of the Social Democratic Parliamentary Group of Rhineland-Palatinate. Between 1991 and 2007 she worked for the state chancellery of Rhineland-Palatinate. During that time she served as deputy director of the central department. Since 2007 Ingeborg Hoffstadt is working for the Directorate General Cultural Heritage Rhineland-Palatinate (State Conservation Office) as managing director. From the beginning of last year she is representative for the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany to the Reflection Group EU and cultural heritage.
